Vallorcine was modernized in 2004 when a high-speed gondola was installed which allows access to the Balme ski domain.
Vallorcine, together with Le Tour, is part of the Domaine de Balme, which provides great family skiing as it consists mostly of beginner and intermediate slopes.
The main beginners' areas are located a train ride away at either Le Poya or Le Tour and are both excellent for those who are unfamiliar with skiing or who want to master the basic skills.
If you are an intermediate skier, the Télécabine de Vallorcine will take you straight to the blue piste Les Esserts.
